Not for the faint of heart, this trip is one that induces the true spirit of adventure!

THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER TOUR
Day 1: 5-8 miles
Meet at Gulf Coast Visitor Center at 8 am to park personal vehicles and pack dry bags. We then get shuttled with boats and gear to Flamingo Visitor Center, about 4 hours driving. We have lunch on arrival, then begin packing kayaks for the journey. Day one is often our shortest due to the late start for paddling.
Days 2-7: 10-21 miles
We cannot provide an exact itinerary due to factors such as tides, weather and permit availability with several different campsite options that will be determined closer to the expedition date. We will have some nights on beaches, shell mounds and Chickee platforms.
The average day will be 12-15 miles but will have at least one or two days of 20 miles or more.
It is not uncommon to experience opposing tides or wind at some point along the trip, and some days can be exhausting but rewarding!
Day 8: 8-12 miles
We will paddle from our final campsite back to where our personal vehicles are parked at the Gulf Coast Visitor Center. Usually arriving no later than 4pm(often earlier).
This tour is suitable for FIT individuals with some paddling experience. Ages 18-72.
Sea kayaking over long distances can be a strenuous physical activity that may require paddling against tides or headwind for extended periods.
We try to take ample breaks but may be seated in the kayaks for up to 3+ hours at a time. There are some stretches with dense mangroves where there isn't any real dry land.
Participants should be comfortable getting in and out of a Sea Kayak with enclosed cockpit at ground level as well as on to a ladder with or without reasonable assistance.
Each trip is fully outfitted. We provide all meals starting with lunch on the first day and ending with lunch on the last day, accommodations can be made for those with food allergies or special dietary restrictions.
We also provide tents, kayaks, paddling and safety equipment, dry bags, and a professional guide.
